Know YOUR Farmer

Come on Over for a Visit!

This blog is going to go over why it is important to know where your food comes from and who is growing it for you and your families, the end consumers.

Here is a straight up fact:

for everyone reading this blog that has morals and values that are ingrained in all good people. There is no one on the planet that will love your family more than you, PERIOD. Zero, zip, nadda.

We have all relied on a third party who does not know you or your family for our food security. We have been told everything must come from a government inspected facility and that if it isn’t it cannot be trusted what so ever. From the chicken and dairy cartels to the government officials claiming they want the best for us, time and time again we are shown that might not be the case, and definitely is not their true intentions.

This might not even be their own fault. Like raising animals, if you have a huge number of them without a way to intensely manage they will not be of the top most quality. When dealing with these big numbers the bottom line becomes numbers, profits and losses. How can you be ensured you are getting the best and they are meeting your true expectations when you are just a number? You cant and they don’t. This is why there is no one on the planet in the industrial food complex that truly knows your needs and wants while meeting your expectations.

YOU need to inspect the facilities, YOU need to know how and where your food is grown, YOU need to know exactly what is being put into your families bodies and have a deeper connection to your food. The responsibility is now falling back on us which is perfect since no one loves our families like we do.

How do we do this?

Welp, its simple and really fun!

Gather your family and head out to local farms. Meet the farmers and create relationships where you are not a number, you are a loving family who is in desperate need for REAL food. Inspect their growing procedures and see where the animals are living, where the garden is growing and does it meet your expectations. Look at their additives and see what the livestock is eating. We are what we eat and so are our animals.

Ask questions on why and how and see which farmer you align with morally. Become a friend of the farm and know when the farmer is raising your animals you and your family are on their mind!

Or you can trust the complex that continually steals from us, makes us sicker, and ensures their pockets are totally lined while ours are full of holes…. Its all up to you!

Become your own inspector

Be picky, VERY VERY PICKY!

This is where you get to create the standard for your families health and well being.

Our worlds health has been spirling down for 100 years. We are told people in the past died early and were unwell. We are told to thank the medical and food complex for the convenient choices that are the best for our health.

This is simply not true. How can people in the past eat organic food, breath fresh air, work hard (exercise), sleep in silence without sirens or threats of home invasion have such short life spans?

It is easy… its a load of vaccinated, antibiotic and hormone filled bull crap.

We need to take responsibility for our own health and by ensuring we are eating vitamin, mineral, and nutrient filled foods which is the major step to true health without an industry driven on profits intervention. Cures and health do not sign their cheques so stop paying them! Take that hard earned money and put it into amazing local food that is not part of the mega machine but is part of something created to nurture and help you and your family thrive!

What are some questions to ask?

Lets break it down to all proccesses that go into raising livestock

Early life for the animals:

  • What bedding is used and what techniques do they implement to ensure a healthy environment for the small delicate animals?
  • Are the animals vaccinated?
  • What are they feeding them?
  • How much sunlight do they receive in a day?
  • What additional additives do they give the animals? Any water additives or supplementation?
  • Is their food medicated?

Once out of the brooder or weaned off their mothers:

  • Was a medicated dewormer used? If so which ones and when?
  • What management procedures do you use for pasturing the animals?
  • What are they fed? Can you get a feed nutrient breakdown for the animals?
  • What supplements are they using?
  • Is there free choice minerals used? Are minerals added to their feed?
  • Is there a poop management process?
  • If not, are the animals dewormed or is there use of constant antibiotics used to ensure good health?
  • Are any animals kept over winter? If so can you see where they are kept and please explain your winter management of the stalls and poop from each animal.
  • What medical intervention techniques are used? (natural or modern medicine)
  • When giving birth or hatching how hands on are you as a farmer? (how much intervention do you give or do you let the animal run its course alone)

Harvest Day:

  • How are the animals slaughtered?
  • Where are they slaughtered?
  • How are the animals kept clean?
  • Does this whole process take place inside or outside?
  • If all done on farm, can you see where their set up takes place and have a run down of the entire process start to finish?
  • If butchered and wrapped what machines are used?
  • What type of wrapping is used?
  • Are there freezers on site or is everything picked up the day of harvest?

Thats Great but what are the Correct Answers to the Questions?

This is why you need to be your own inspector. We all have different wants and expectations.

Listen to the farmer and even take notes if you need. When he says something and it doesn’t sit in your gut properly then it does not align with what you want for YOUR family. There are millions of ways to do things but you need to find out what works for you and your expectations. When finished ask the farmer the questions you have gained after asking the above and see if it is possible for them to meet your needs. If not, no harm no foul, you get to go visit another farm! Once this process is over and you found YOUR farmer you can be ensured you have amazing REAL food for years to come for your family and yourself.
